As a recap:
In a previous post, I shared that as of mid-June, my stats showed a lot of click-and-runs, which equated to a significant earnings drop. Then, one day, my read ratio and earnings were better; it seemed things had returned to normal. The following day, my read ratio was as bad as before. So the normalization was for one day only.
Moving forward, in a comment today, a community connection by the name of Marcus Musick told me that he figured both the read ratio drop and decreased earnings might be due to a Medium bug. The issue is that PC users cannot see the length of our articles. The bug has been problematic since mid-June. I now see it.
To be clear — readers on the run seeking out short articles are going to end up on pages they don’t want to view, and it will happen often.
