Window on the World/UHN publication: The end of an era marks the beginning of a new one.

I recently discovered that Medium prefers publications to have prominent themes. The previous name, Unleashing Human Narratives, was excellent, and the publication had a great look and feel to it. However, the word juggling I encountered in trying to adapt a theme to it was painful. It was absolutely necessary to change the name, or it would not have been done.

The last couple of days, since the decision was made to make the change, were spent going back to change as many instances of the written name as could be found. The URLs could not be updated, as it took time for the actual changeover to occur. The notification of the replacement URL came today; it feels good to be taking the final steps towards completing the conversion. Today, the URLs on all publication pages and articles will be updated, but I have yet to begin. Once done, if any are missed, please leave comments on the articles. It would be appreciated.

The new publication name, as stated in the title, is Window on the World. I considered calling it The Window on the World, but that would give it a longer URL or would otherwise require it to not precisely match the URL. It works as is, though. I just love the look of metal umlauts, so two were added to the new logo. They were on the old one, and I couldn’t let them go.

For those who don’t know what metal umlauts are, they’re those two dots over each O. The reason they are called metal umlauts is because they serve only the function of providing a look, and historically, they were first used to decorate rock albums.

The acronym for our publication is WOTW.
